| Description: | Abstract: The Collaborative Research Center (CRC-TRR 228): Future Rural Africa is engaged in understanding what rural African livelihood depends on; to explore the opportunities for change in the future and to collaborate with local people in shaping human-environment-interactions for the benefit of all. Future making in rural areas requires a deep understanding of past and present environmental processes and land use habits because both agricultural activities and conservation measures are increasingly being promoted. Therefore, researchers of the University of Bonn and the University of Cologne in partnership with the University of Nairobi conducted a household survey in the Baringo county of Kenya in 2019. The report provides an overview of socioeconomic factors in the region, households aspiration and expectation, agricultural production and much more. |
