| Description: | Other: During the months of January and February 2023 I conducted twenty-four interviews with farmers in the village of Habu in northern Botswana. These interviews were aimed at gaining an understanding of percepGons and aspects related to caHle husbandry, foot-and-mouth disease, disease control and the Herding 4 Health programme. The interviews were exploratory in nature and iniGally they were intended to be semi-structured, allowing interviewees and myself to delve into topics and issues that would spontaneously emerge. However, as the interviews were conducted with the help of a research assistant, Raymond Kandjou, semi-structured interviews proved to be challenging. Hence I decided to standardize the interview guide to some extent, specifying certain areas of interest and allowing Raymond to conduct the interview more independently. While I was sGll present at all interviews, and did probe or ask follow-up quesGons on some occasions, the interviews to a large extent took the form of a quesGonnaire and can therefore be subjected to descriptive analysis (but because of the small sample size staGsGcal analysis was not performed). This document reports this analysis. |
